These are the student learning outcomes (SLOs) for the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies. These outcomes describe the knowledge, skills, and dispositions that the Liberal Studies curriculum develops in students.
1. Students will demonstrate a commitment to the inherent value of learning and the ability to articulate how educational experiences relate to careers and daily life. |
2. Students will demonstrate a basic understanding of knowledge and methods from disciplines in the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities. |
3. Students will demonstrate the ability to conduct interdisciplinary research that draws from appropriate disciplines to analyze pressing questions facing multicultural communities both locally and globally. |
4. Students will demonstrate an understanding of the assumptions and strategies (epistemological, heuristic, and critical) underlying discipline-based inquiries in the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities. |
5. Students will demonstrate the ability to use interdisciplinary methods and approaches from the humanities and qualitative social sciences to explain, describe, and define cultural sites, social situations, and texts from multiple media.
