Library Collections & Access

Library Collections and Access

The University Library provides a wealth of scholarly and informational resources with on- and off-campus access, state-of-the-art research tools and services, along with spaces to support learning and research.

OneSearch

OneSearch reaches across a spectrum of databases and journal packages and makes it easy to find, cite, save, and share scholarly journal articles, books, and media at the Library and across all CSU libraries. As a powerful discovery tool, it simplifies your research process.

Collections and Resources

Via OneSearch and the Databases A-Z List from the library homepage, you can easily access 310+ subscription databases, granting access to an astounding collection of approximately 65,000 electronic journals, 600K+ eBooks, and over 1,000 newspapers, including the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and Wall Street Journal, as well as primary source databases, open access journals, and ebooks.

CSU+ and Interlibrary Loan

CSU+ and Interlibrary Loan services deliver books and articles from other CSU campuses and libraries nationwide. Articles can often be delivered via email within a few hours to a couple of days, and print items can be picked up at the Service Desk on the 1st. Fl., Library North, and in lockers outside the library.

Special Collections and Archives

The Univerisity Library Special Collections & Archives acquire, preserve, and provide access to primary sources such as archives, rare books, manuscripts, and other rare and unique materials. Through our special collections and archival materials, we aim to capture the diverse lives and historical narratives reflected in our heavily first-generation student body, and the major contributions their communities have made to the dynamic cultures of Southern California. If you would like to schedule a class visit fill out the Instruction Request Form.

Off-Campus Access

Electronic subscriptions are restricted to the Cal State LA community (currently enrolled students, faculty/emeritus faculty & staff) due to licensing/copyright agreements with vendors and publishers. Learn how to access Library electronic resources while off-campus.
