Services

Multimedia services are on a "first come, first served" basis and require approval from the ITS Multimedia department. Project approval is based on factors that include, but are not limited to staffing, proper equipment resource availability, and timely submission of the request (4 weeks or more depending on the scope of each project). To get started, please choose an option or contact us for a consultation.

Terms of Services

The ITS Multimedia Services department at Cal State LA will keep copies of your project files for one year following the delivery of the finalized content, after which the files will be deleted. A high-resolution export of the finalized edited content will be archived and available upon your request.

You are required to hold the copyright for all materials submitted or have permission to use all copyrighted material contained in your videos, encompassing but not limited to videos, images, and music.

Cal state LA uses a licensed music library. If you want to use music from our library, your YouTube account needs to be verified with our vendor.

CSU, including Cal State LA, adheres to Executive Order 1111 requiring all instructional and web materials to be accessible. Video materials must have synchronized closed captions, audio materials need verbatim transcripts or captions, and all instructional content must be accessible. ITS Multimedia Services employs a vendor for captions at a rate of $1.99 per minute of content, with charges applied to your department.

If you would like to request closed captions for a video that was not produced by ITS Multimedia Services, please visit the Audio and Video page of the Accessibility website.

Please note that all university in-person and virtual events must adhere to Accessible Event Planning guidelines. Accessible events benefit everyone and ensure that participants can fully engage in the event and contribute should they desire. If your event is interactive, an ASL interpreter and live captions are required.

ASL Interpreter: You can schedule an ASL interpreter by visiting the Office for Students with Disabilities (OSD) website.

Live Captions: Live captions request will need to be submitted by our team, if we are supporting the event. If you are running your own event, a live captions request can be submitted via the Video Captioning Request form.

While most of our services are complimentary for the campus community, there are instances where charges may apply, including:

  • Services requested outside our regular operational hours (9 a.m. - 5 p.m.).
  • Services for campus entities not funded by the state or ASI.
  • Services for projects funded by grants.
  • Captioning services.
  • Non-instructional services that do not support a wide audience.
