Film in Housing
We welcome professional film studios and students to film in Housing. Please review the steps below to get started.
Housing offers a variety of unique spaces for your filming needs, including University Apartments, residence hall-style rooms, conference rooms, courtyards, the game room, and more! We'll work with you to ensure your experience is smooth and positive. Please review the steps to reserve a space for filming below:
- To begin the process of obtaining approval to film in Housing, please visit Cal State LA's Filming Request page and follow the instructions listed.
- Once your request has been reviewed by the Office of Communications and Public Affairs, Public Safety, and Use of Facilities, it will either be approved or denied. If approved, the finalized request will be forwarded to Housing.
- The Housing office will then contact you via email to coordinate logistics. Any additional fees associated with filming will be discussed at that time.

With a large and active student community living on campus, Housing is a great place to promote your event or program.
You’re welcome to promote your event or program by posting flyers in approved areas throughout Housing or by submitting a digital flyer to be displayed on the lounge TVs in South Village.
